Feedback From Our Engagements
Zainal Ariffin
Operations Director · Petaling Jaya
We engaged Mossvale for the Operational Practices Review after a few months of informal conversation about improving our waste handling. The process was straightforward — one of their advisers spent a couple of days looking at what we actually do, and the observations note they produced was honest and specific. Nothing in it surprised us enormously, but having it written down clearly made it much easier to prioritise what to act on first.

The Responsible Operations Programme helped us put some structure around things we had been doing informally for a while. The co-design session with our team was the part I found most useful — it got people engaged who might otherwise have been sceptical about the whole exercise. The measures sheet is something we still use weekly.

We completed the Sustainability Advisory Programme over three months and found the structure genuinely useful. The follow-up advisory sessions were the part we had not expected to value as much as we did — having a second conversation six weeks into the rollout helped us adjust course on one practice that was not landing as expected. Nadia was direct and helpful throughout.

As a small manufacturing firm, I was not sure whether this kind of advisory work was sized for us. The Practices Review was a reasonable way to test the waters — the scope was contained and the fee was not difficult to justify. The shortlist of next steps gave us a clear starting point and we have since come back for the Responsible Operations programme.

We are a mid-sized professional services firm and engaged Mossvale to help us formalise our approach to office operations. The adviser was well-prepared and asked the right questions. What stood out was that they were not trying to sell us the largest engagement — they recommended the middle programme, which was exactly what we needed at the time.

We had been through a similar exercise with another consultancy and ended up with a thick report we never used. Mossvale's approach is deliberately different — the documents they produce are short, practical, and written for the people who will act on them. The rollout checklist from our Responsible Operations engagement is still pinned on the staff noticeboard.

Light Logistics Firm, Klang Valley
Operational Practices Review · 5 days · RM 620
Starting Point
The firm's management had a general sense that their fuel and waste costs were higher than they needed to be, but lacked a clear picture of where the inefficiencies sat. There was no existing documentation of operational habits.
What We Did
We spent three days observing and documenting current practices across vehicle maintenance scheduling, packaging disposal, and supplier communications. We spoke with four staff members across different roles.
What Followed
The observations note identified two areas where small scheduling changes could reduce fuel use. The firm acted on one of them within a fortnight of receiving the report. They returned three months later for the Responsible Operations Programme.
"The review was worth doing just for the clarity it gave us. Before it, we were guessing at which problems to address. After it, we had a short list we could actually work through." — Operations Manager
Professional Services Office, Cyberjaya
Responsible Operations Programme · 3 weeks · RM 1,560
Starting Point
The firm had received questions from a corporate client about their operational practices and wanted to be able to answer them credibly. They had no existing documentation and were unsure what was worth formalising.
What We Did
We ran an initial review to establish what practices already existed informally, then co-designed a simple energy and procurement practice with the office manager and two other staff. We prepared the adoption guide to reflect how their team actually works.
What Followed
The firm was able to share the practice plan with their corporate client within a month of the engagement closing. They reported that the process of creating the document was as useful as the document itself — it prompted several internal conversations that had not happened before.
"We expected a document. What we got was also a much clearer understanding of what our team actually values and is willing to commit to." — Managing Partner
